FinSight (“we,” “our,” or “the App”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. The App is designed as a “privacy-first” tool, meaning your financial data stays under your control on your own device.
To provide automated expense tracking, the App requires access to sensitive information. We only process this data locally on your device:
- SMS Data: The App reads incoming SMS messages to detect transaction alerts from banks and payment providers.
- Notifications: The App monitors system notifications to identify successful payment alerts from UPI and banking applications.
- Accessibility Services: With your explicit consent, we use Accessibility Services to detect payment success screens within other apps to provide precise transaction logging.
- Transaction Details: We extract amounts, merchant names, and timestamps to create your financial dashboard.
3. Data Storage (Local-Only)
- No Cloud Sync: All detected transactions and financial insights are stored exclusively in your device’s local storage.
- User Control: Because data is stored locally, deleting the App or clearing App data will permanently remove your transaction history. We do not maintain backups on any external servers.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal or financial data with third parties. No data is transmitted off your device.
5. Permissions Required
- SMS: To parse bank alerts.
- Notifications: To detect payment app alerts.
- Accessibility: To log transactions from payment success screens.
